First Aid at Work (FAAW)

This covers all the elements of the First Aid at Work syllabus.

This course is 3 day course with 18-hours of contact time during which we will cover the following topics:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Health & Safety Regulations
  • First Aid kits
  • Scene Assessment (DRCABC)
  • Primary & Secondary Surveys
  • Responsive Casualty including the recovery position. 
  • Unresponsive Casualty
  • CPR including safe use of an AED (defibrillator)
  • Minor & Catastrophic Bleeding
  • Choking
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Anaphylaxis and Allergies
  • Bone, Fractures & Spinal Injuries
  • Strains & Sprains
  • Head Injuries
  • Heart Attacks & Angina
  • Poisoning 
  • Eye Injuries
  • Fainting
  • Diabetes
  • Seizures
  • Asthma
  • Stoke
  • Shock
  • Effects of Heat & Cold
  • Reporting of incidents

On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with an A4 e-certificate via email which is valid for 3-years.
