Basic Life Support & Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
This covers all the elements of basic life support and the usage of an automated external defibrillator (AED) also known as a 'defib' for short. This course will cover all the practical elements that you need to know when dealing with a casualty in cardiac arrest or a chocking casualty, with confidence.
This course has 3-hours of contact time during which we will cover the following topics:
- Principles of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Reasons for Early Intervention
- Primary Survey of a Casualty
- Barriers
- CPR practice
- Chocking Casualty
- How to use an AED (defibrillator) on an adult and child
- Recovery position
- How to handover to a medical professional
On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with an A4 e-certificate via email which is valid for 12-months.
