Real emergencies. Real experience. Real confidence.

JBS Medical is run by me — Jake — a first aid trainer and medical provider with a genuine passion for making life-saving skills accessible to everyone. Oh and I'm a huge lover of Skiing!

My first ever first aid qualification was back in 2010, when I completed my First Aid at Work certificate. Since then, first aid and emergency care have been a constant part of my working life. Over the years I’ve completed countless Emergency Life Support and First Aid at Work refreshers, alongside gaining my FREC-3 (First Response Emergency Care) qualification in 2023 and my FREC-4 in 2025.

JBS Medical originally started out providing event first aid and medical cover. Everything from local village fetes and sporting events through to larger Christmas markets and outdoor concerts. While working with clients, one thing came up again and again: how expensive and impersonal first aid training from large providers can be.

That’s what pushed me into training.

I believe no one should be priced out of learning life-saving skills. First aid should be affordable, practical, and taught in a way that actually gives people the confidence to step in when it matters. That’s exactly what I aim to deliver. Courses that are engaging, interactive, and grounded in real-world situations.

My training is shaped by real experience. I’ve provided CPR on a busy high street surrounded by camera phones and social media, and I’ve delivered critical, life-saving care on dark, wet nights to seriously injured casualties. Emergencies don’t happen in neat classrooms and I make sure my courses reflect that reality, while still being supportive and enjoyable.

All training is delivered in line with current guidance and legislation. I’m fully insured and hold qualifications in First Aid at Work, FREC-3, FREC-4, and a range of health and safety certifications including IOSH Manual Handling, IOSH Working Safely, and IOSH Managing Safely.

Most importantly, I work hard to create a relaxed, safe learning environment. Whether you’re learning first aid for the first time or refreshing existing skills, I want every learner to leave feeling empowered, confident, and capable of helping a family member, loved one, colleague, or even a complete stranger if that moment ever comes.

From individuals and sole traders to small, medium, and large businesses, everyone is welcome. Life-saving skills should be accessible to all, and that’s what JBS Medical is here for.
